Vancouver for couples is genuinely spectacular. Mountains behind you, ocean in front of you, the city humming between them. Add a World Cup match at BC Place and you have one of the best couple's trips in the tournament.
What Fanway Plans For Couples in Vancouver
When building a couple's trip to Vancouver, Fanway factors in:
- 3km radius from your location for nearby recommendations
- Scenic and romantic venues — waterfront dining, mountain views, Gastown charm
- SkyTrain routing directly to BC Place — easy match day for two
- Walkable evening neighbourhoods — Gastown, Yaletown, Kitsilano
- June weather — outdoor dining recommendations and rainy-day alternatives
This is what that looks like on the ground.
Day 1 — Arrive Together, Explore Together
Morning: Stanley Park Seawall walk — rent bikes or just walk the path together. The seawall runs along the ocean with mountain views on every clear morning. Stop at Prospect Point for the best views of the Lions Gate Bridge. One of the most romantic morning walks in North America.
Afternoon: Granville Island by False Creek ferry. The short ferry crossing is itself a nice moment — 10 minutes across the inlet. The Public Market has excellent food for a shared lunch. Walk the island slowly after eating.
Evening: Dinner in Gastown. Notch8 Restaurant or Chambar for something properly special, or the smaller independent spots along Water Street for something more casual. Gastown's cobblestoned streets and Victorian architecture are beautiful in the evening light.
Day 2 — Match Day
Morning: Kitsilano Beach on the morning of a match day. The beach looks across English Bay toward downtown and the mountains — one of the best views in the city and completely free. Grab coffee from one of the spots on Cornwall Avenue and sit on the beach.
Afternoon: SkyTrain from Yaletown–Roundhouse or nearby station to Stadium–Chinatown. BC Place is right there — the most central stadium in the tournament. Get inside early and find your seats together. The views from inside BC Place over the city are excellent.
Evening: Post-match, the waterfront fan zone around Canada Place will be full of people. Walk it together with a drink from one of the vendor stands. The mountains lit up at night behind the harbour is a view worth lingering on.
Day 3 — The City, Your Way
Morning: North Shore — take the SkyTrain to Lonsdale Quay, then the SeaBus across Burrard Inlet to North Vancouver. The SeaBus crossing gives you the best city-and-mountain panorama in Vancouver. Walk the Lonsdale Quay market on the other side for breakfast.
Afternoon: Capilano Suspension Bridge together. The canyon views from the suspension bridge are dramatic — genuinely awe-inspiring for a first visit. Book tickets online in advance to skip the queue.
Evening: Back to Yaletown for a final dinner — Blue Water Cafe for seafood if you want the best meal of the trip, or any of the neighbourhood spots along Mainland Street for something more relaxed. End the evening with a walk along the False Creek waterfront.
